A commercial, advertising and editorial photographer. Alicia Shi loves to create eyecatching images, which speak to the viewer. Her themes range is from portrait and street to fashion and art.
Born in Russia, her interest in photography flared after seeing the work of Henri Cartier-Bresson and James Nachtwey. In 2008 she won a street photographers competition. The prize of two hours access to a studio was her first step to becoming a fashion photographer.
Alicia had strong desire to follow her calling. In 2012 she moved to China. She was working as a photographer and retoucher at Shanghai photo studio for three years. In 2016 she opened her company Alicia Shi Photography and Consulting in China.
Currently based between New York and Shanghai. She has contributed images for many brands including Lancôme, Dior, Chanel, Michael Kors, Reebok, Starbucks, Guess, Diesel, RIO, Paul Frank. Her recent publications were for Grazia magazine, ID magazine, Schön! Magazine, Kaltblut and Fucking Young magazines.
